About Us

Meet our Director

RICH GEOFFROY

Rich Geoffroy is skilled in Plastics, receiving both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Plastics from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.  Afterwhich, he received a Masters of Science degree in Management Science, an MBA program which required an undergraduate degree in science or engineering for admission.

Rich has held several entry level positions in product and material evaluation, coatings and adhesives, and membrane development for electrochemical applications.  Mr. Geoffroy also served as a Department Manager for Springborn Laboratories where he directed the largest Plastic Pipe Evaluation Center in the world, prior to establishing his own plastics engineering and consulting practice, Polymer Services Group, in 1985.

Rich is a recognized expert in polymers and has counseled over a hundred multinational corporations, manufacturers, industry associations, and end users in the area of plastics materials, processing, design, and testing and evaluation.  He has been an active member of many professional associations including ASTM International, Plastics Pipe Institute (PPI), Plastic Pipe and Fitting Association (PPFA), Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE), and Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI).  Rich is currently the Chairman of ASTM Committee F17 on Plastics Piping Systems and has been awarded ASTM’s highest award, the ASTM Award of Merit.

Mr. Geoffroy has extensive experience in plastic pipe, polymer blends, membranes, molded and extruded products, electrically-conductive moldings and coatings.  He is equally competent in all forms of plastics processing including extrusion, injection, blow molding, vacuum forming, etc., as well as formulations.

Rich has extensive experience in patent litigation, personal injury, product liability, and contract disputes, and has worked with both foreign and domestic plaintiffs and defendants.

Rich is an excellent technical writer and can also provide:

  • an intrinsic understanding of polymers --- how they behave, process and interact with their environment;

  • demonstrated competence to sell and deliver technical programs and meet client objectives;

  • exceptional ability to identify the root cause of a problem and resolve it;

  • proven capacity to manage, motivate, and inspire young professionals to achieve new levels of technical and managerial accomplishment;
